I've been experimenting and studying more of how to paint colour on top of a greyscale image. Below is one of my more successful attempts. Still much to learn but it's a step in the right direction. I find I get far better results when I'm only worrying about dark/light values before even bringing colour into the equation.

Long time no update! Time to get back on the horse!
Took up a full time job back at Mercury Filmworks doing special effects for television shows. As it takes up most of my time I don't have much extra time for personal artwork but when I can I try to crank out a sketch or speed painting here and there. Here's one now!

Map re-vamp
We've revisited the original map idea I had created and decided to go with a different look to it. Below is a comparison to the old map and where it stands currently. Hoping to get it to a finished state before I'm on leave.

I'm still alive!
Sorry I've been gone for so long. I feel bad about leaving the page in limbo but one tends to let things slide when one gets married! That's right folks, ring on the finger. This fella's got a full time sugar mama.
I have been very busy with my work on CoreTechs:Tactics over the last few months as well as various other contracts that have been filling in the gaps. I'm eager to see CTT make it's kickstarter launch and get feedback from the masses on what I've been working on for what has it been now? Almost a year? Regardless, it's definitely helped hone my skills and improve my portfolio. I'll try to post some of the more recent creations for the game in the next weeks.
Enough chat for now, I'll leave you with a silhouette exercise I did last night to clear out the dust in my conceptual work.
